About the Charles City Public Library Foundation:
The Foundation of the Charles City Public Library was established and incorporated in 1988 for the purpose of independent enhancement and support of the public library of Charles City, Iowa. Currently, the foundation supplies about half of the materials budget for the library and pays for the digital library accessible through Hoopla, providing a wide range of digital books, movies, television shows, comics, magazines, and audiobooks. The foundation is managed by an independent board of community members. It serves as a vehicle to accept gifts for the library; these gifts can be specified for named purposes or can be general gifts to the library. The foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, so all gifts are tax deductible. It is considered a qualified charitable distribution by the IRS and can receive the required minimum distributions from IRA accounts. Gifts are accepted and invested on behalf of the library, so any amount will continue to increase the library collection for many years.
The foundation accepts gifts in the form of check or via their PayPal account. Please include your donor information and if the donation is for a specific purpose. If it is for a memorial for a deceased member of the community, please provide next of kin contact information. This information can be emailed to the library director at adean@charles-city.lib.ia.us or can be mailed to the library address.
