Hoopla is a new content subscription database that the Charles City Public Library Foundation has provided for the patrons of Charles City Public Library. Hoopla is easy to use and provides access to ebooks, audiobooks, comics, movies, and music. These resources are available for download through the Hoopla app. Similar to the library’s ebook library BRIDGES, materials are downloaded or streamed and automatically deleted after the due date. Watch or read on a computer, tablet, or other electronic device. Download the app and use your email and library card number to set up your account. Patrons are limited to 10 checkouts per month.

Children’s Kits

The library added “What’s that Sound”, “Crash, Boom, Bang”, and “Barnyard Fun” for children under 4 years old and “Backyard Discovery”, “Lifecycle of a Frog”, and “My Pizza Shop” for children between 4 and 8 years old. The backpacks are brimming with high-quality early learning materials, books, and activities with activity guides that make learning fun! All materials are developmentally appropriate for young children and teach valuable concepts children need to know for school success. The magnatile kits include magnetic tiles to be used in free build or patterned build play and a related book. Kit themes include Green Eggs and Ham, Space, and Mixed It Up Colors.

The library is excited to add these new items to our collection. Stop in and check them out today! For questions/comments contact Annette Dean at ccdirector34@gmail.com.
